    km 4500i doc feed jams

    Hi Folks,
I have a Kyocera KM4500I series the document feeder jams intermittently, after the last sheet comes out of the feeder. Most times, it works fine..but when it acts up..any suggestions, the rollers and belt, seem fine..I've cleaned all the sensors, rollers, so forth..I can show up, and run the heck out of it..it will work fine..Thanks, in advance for any input !!

Does it jam because it is trying to pickup/ feed paper that is no longer in the RADF tray? There was a change to the shape of the “paper in” sensor some years ago due to the lever hanging.

There's a one-way in the back that causes two-sided jams with one sheet just about exited like you describe.

Otherwise I've had 1mil+ on ADF that needed all the convey rollers replaced due to narrowing.

If they're J9000 jams, I'll agree with Ropariva. The original detection flag does a little bounce as it drops from the last original, detecting a phantom original. On a few machines I added a torsion spring to damp the bounce. Do I have a photo? Yes:

Oops ... that's Amber running off with my socks.

    There it is:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The way I caught this was by removing the outer skin of the top door, then running just single pages. You can see the flag operate. It only uses gravity as a return. =^..^=
