    5550ci takes 5-mins to make 1 copy ?

Intermittent, sometimes machine will sit and wait, blink for 5 minutes or so before it will make a single copy,

pwr off/on and is alright for a short time, then goes right back to same waiting game,

    any suggestions?

I had a Ricoh/Savin that was doing something similar. "Decurl" was turned on. Once I turned that off, first copy out time was about 4-5 seconds.

Remove the fuser and check the non contact thermistor in the middle at the bottom. It’s not unusual for scraps of hard toner to drop in there blocking it and causing such delays while it tries to stabilise the temperature.

    Re: 5550ci takes 5-mins to make 1 copy ?

Their IT dept. updated the print drivers and now it seems to print faster, but walk up copy extended times are still an issue, I updated f/w.

Now that I think of it, the machine had a C6200 fuser code ( which is thermistor #2 not reaching temp in allotted time) a few days ago that the customer cleared with a pwr off/on and it has not come back, but that may well be causing my issue...

I will try a fuser from the shop

What media types are your trays set to? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Slow printing ALWAYS needs to be tested with a local driver. I don't know all your details but if it's faster local vs server then that's their problem.

If there's still a lingering problem with copying. Check "Quiet Mode" in System Menu. Off is faster On is slower (out of sleep) but with all the noises these machines make I prefer it On..

As mentioned check quiet mode. I've also had a couple machines do that when copying. That eliminates any driver issue. Mine needed the HDD's replaced.
    Hope that helps !
