Waste toner 2 series.
Anyone have a fix for the dreaded grinding sound from a waste toner backed up? I'm getting to hate when I recieved a noise call on this series.

just replace them with latest one and warranty it. Latest one seem to work much better.

Re: Waste toner 2 series.
There are several bulletins regarding this issue, mostly a build up of toner in the waste box, if it’s been going on a while check the gear on the of drive unit which drives the waste box

Re: Waste toner 2 series.
Two major VERY important things to check when replacing the waste assy.
1) Make sure that the waste toner bottle is rotating , if it's not this will cause the waste assy to seize.
2) Check the waste toner auger on the transfer belt and make sure it's not seized and the drive dive isn't rounded off.
If the waste bottle isn't rotating your problem will happen again depending on usage , from a couple of days to weeks.
Did I mention that it's very important to check these to assemblies ?
Have fun...

Re: Waste toner 2 series.
my quick check for the waste container drive/mis-shapen housing: grab the bottle and twist - if it moves by hand, the housing is borked. if it's tight, pull the main drive pack and go through all the waste passages.
