    TA 4002i Clicking

Hi all, getting a clicking noise coming from the exit section and wondering if there is anything specific I should be looking for or if anyone has remedied this issue before. That lower exit section runs constantly and bugging the customer. Understandable. Thanks for any feedback. Paul

Might want to try silent mode.

Thanks for the responses. The unit I'm working on is newer than the tech bulletin cut off. I pulled the unit and lubed everything. all gears rollers and follower rollers. Issue resolved. I do think it was coming from one or more of the little follower rollers that are attached with the springs on either side. They were the only thing that made any sound when spun.
    Thanks again.

These are also known for fuser failure. Kyocera has updated the part number by 6 revisions apparently due to bearing squeal, gear clacking, and premature wear. That might be where your noise is coming from.

Silent mode is best fix. Machine stops cycling as soon as last sheet exits. The only downside is first copy out may be just a bit longer but not really noticeable.
I have quieted down exit assemblies only to return and find the clicking was back.

I would have to agree! Silent mode is a techs best friend!!!

*I've also found that just lube may be a temporary fix. Drove me nuts for a while!
