9002i DV u it's.

I have an account with 3 9002i that seem to eat DV units. I have replaced the u it's at least once in all the machines, and now 3 times in one of them. The symptom is always a light shadow which corresponds to a spot on the DV unit. Replacing the DV fixes the problem for a while but it always comes back.
Paper brand in Ultra, it's a decent brand and I've not had any problems with it yet n the past. They do use Tuttle and Strathmore bond 25% cotton at times.
Having a hard time believing I have had 7 defective DV units, but I can't come up with a solution here.
Firmware is up to date.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
