    Kyocera KM-6030

I put in a new waste toner bottle, and cleared the count in sim921. But the machine still says waste toner almost full. Also when I go back in to sim921 it says 2080000. Anyone hane an idea on this? I normally work on Lanier but got stuck with this one.
    Please help

Use maintenance mode 921 to reset the Waste Toner Counter. Enter maintenance mode 921, press the start key, press the reset key, then press the start key again. The value is cleared. HTH
    Hope that helps !

Cameron, I searched the Kyocera Knowledgebase & there's nothing on there to help. Are you sure you're doing the sequence right to clear the counter? Can't think of anything else.
    Hope that helps !

after you reset the count you need to hit print to save it before you get out of the sim.

let us know if you get it figured out.

was the waste toner bottle actually full when you replaced it or did it seem like a false message

I had a similar problem with a 5530, but I don't remember if the 6030 has the same sensor. The 5530 had a "weight sensor" that would open a switch if the waste tank was too heavy, and it would always put some large number into U921.

The 6030 & 8030 bottle has an optical area, but no optical sensor. Only a weight sensor. I think somewhere in production they must have found the optical sensor problematic, or possibly redundant. =^..^=

Sorry guys I have been real busy. I did do the steps in order. It is a false message. And from what I can tell it is not a weigth system but a magnetic system (small sensor toward the top, like a toner bottle on the 2550). I went on the kmconnect site and someone said to increas the spring pressure on the sensor housing to make a tigther fit on the bottle.
I have not been able to get back there yet, but the machine is running.
I will lwt you know if and when I get this figured out.

    Thanks
