    KM-2050 voip?

Is there any way AT ALL that this mfp will work on voip???
I have an upset customer, and need to show him proof!
The customer was using a Gestetner DSM 618 on voip (not working perfectly) and he was happy.

Has anyone set one up on voip, or is there any documentation to state that it will not work?

    What solutions can you recomend?

Some things that help are to turn off ECM on both send and receive. Also adjust RX & TX start speed to 9600.. This helps but VOIP on Kyocera Product is not supported....

You can also try a digital to analog converter.

    I have.

Like mentioned earlier, you need a analogue to digital converter and there is a few fax settings that need changing.

PM me your email and i will email it to you.

Why keep it in a PM. Let us all know, if you know of a solution.

    Simulations

    U633 – v.34 must be off
    U631 – ECM – must be off
    U630 – Speed:Max 9600bps
    U641 – T0: to maximum

You need an analogue to digital converter!! Decent one, no cheap crap!

Remember to tell your client – This is no general solution, because other factors than fax settings must be regarded, too (VOIP-Provider, VOIP system, performance quality etc.)

Sorry about that I was so use to company policy about private and confidential documents.

Thanks for the info, but I see in my service manual - Fax system (L)
    I have no simulations U630 to U641
In the manual it jumps from U617 to U650
    What manual are you using?

It may differ from series of machine. If your model does not have that simulation, then it is not supported or is under a different sim number, which if fine because it probably needs to be turned off in any case... in other words, dont worry about it.

In the case of U630, you would use sim U607 and adjust the communication start speed.

In the case of sim U641 would be sim U609

    U 633 should be under U670

They differ from series. I should have mentioned that this came off a KMC2525e, was not thinking... sorry my bad.

The info is in your fax service manual L from page 1-3-1

Ya thanks! found them in the manual...
was at the customer this afternoon, did all those settings... still not working
I went as far as going through ALL the setting and adjusting everything that could help, nothing works!!!
I'm just about to give up on this thing.
phoned a buddy of mine from the line - it is very clear.

What type of converter did you have? (that works)

I'm going to take a small Gestetner fax to them in the morning, to use as a loan.
Such a pitty.. the Kyocera is such a good product, now it's got a bad first impression from the customer.

    This is what im using

    Linksys.com - Support/Technical Support/Choose a Product/Voice over IP (VoIP)/VoIP Adapters/PAP2

Does the Gestetner have a digital converter on aswell? Cause as far as i know all fax lines are analog. Would be wierd that the gestetner is working and not the KM.
