    KM-6030 scanning problem

I have a KM-6030 which intermittantly rotates scanned to PC documents by 90 degrees. The documents are scanned from the document feeder 11 x 81/2 portrait direction. I checked the document feeder in copy and scan modes for proper size detection and could not find any problems with the feeder. I also updated firmware. The customer also states that they have never had a size misdetection while copying either from the glass or feeder.

It is very common for the user to have their stack of scanning from the morning post balanced on the end of the document processor tray covering the length sensor whilst they scan each individual mail item. If they have 10 letters to scan, they place place letter one in the document feeder and rest the remaining nine on the right hand side covering the sensors.
