Was the stupid drum after all. The two used drums I tested had the same similar problem. Of all the luck...

Well it looks like I was wrong, I guess there IS a first time for everything.
it's common for those copiers, working in bad condition (dirt, humidity). You can see those dots on the surface of drum(when you have this problem), just pay attention
my understanding is that all parts for the km 4030/35 models are refurbished... especially drums... I have had drums in maintenance kits that were just as bad as the drums I was replacing... on numerous occasions... wondering... is there a way to recondition the drums besides the drum refresh...????

no ways, drum refresh helps sometime a bit, but just for while
check the main charge grid. may be loose.
