| I have a Macbook Pro running the latest version of OS X v10.6.1.
In our office we have a Copystar (Kyocera Mita) CS-2550 on a network.
Down the hall we have a Windows XP machine that connects to the CS-2550, and in settings I have found it connects via TCP/IP, with an IP address something like 192.68.##.##
When I first got my Apple in February 2009 I was able to connect to this network copier/printer. In July I had to reformat this hard drive and reinstall OS X, then recently installed Snow Leopard. Not until last week did I try to reconnect to the CS-2550.
I went to the Copystar site and downloaded Kyocera Mita OSX 10.4 & 10.5 installer v 1.0.
Is this the correct file to download and install?
Is there another file I should also download and install?
Is Snow Leopard, 10.6.1 not compatible with Copystar CS-2550?
I installed the file and in System Preferences / Print & Fax / Open Print Queue / it reads..... "The printer software was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the printer's software or contact the manufacture for assistance."
I know that my Mac saw the printer, because during Printer Setup it found "Kyocera Mita CS-2550 (KPDL) without me having to type that in.
Please help if you can.
Thank you,

this might work... I found it on a website when i had trouble printing to mac... give it a shot...
Problem: After updating from Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard to OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard the installed printer driver for the Kyocera-postscript driver does not work anymore. Here it’s an Kyocera Mita FS-2000D … but it should also work with other models. The printer diver was installed under Leopard and worked quite well. After finishing the update to 10.6 you are able to send a print job to the printer, but an error message shows up in the print queue.
Diagnosis:There are incorrect file permissions under Snow Leopard for the Kyocera printer driver … and this causes some trouble.
Solution:You can easily fix the problem by one command in the Terminal:
1. Log into your Mac as an administrator.
2. Open the program “Terminal” – you’ll find it under “Programs/Utilities”.
3. Input the following command into the appearing command-line window and finish it with pressing the return-key:
sudo chown root:wheel /usr/libexec/cups/filter/kyofilter
4. Now, you’ll be prompted for your password … so put in your password of the admin account and finish the input by pressing the return key again
5. That’s it. Just Close the Terminal program. Now printing on the Kyocera printer should be work like a charm.
