    KM3050 Freezing

Hi Techs from around the world

I'm hoping somebody can help with a problem that i have with a KM3050 freezing all the time. Initially we thought it was the panel causing the problem, but after replacing the entire panel the problem persisted

I haven't done a firmware upgrade as yet, i'll be doing that today. The only other thing that i can think of is the main PCB. Does anybody have any other suggestions

    Thanks for any help

What do you mean when you say "freezing", can you give more detail? Beeps/no beeps, fans/no fans, can/can't print Etc...

PS. The early firmware on the Falcon 3 engines had more bugs then stray dogs ass, update your firmware before doing anything else.

    KM3050 Freezing

Info that i got from my tech wasn't entirely correct. Turns out the panel isn't freezing, instead it would go blank/black at times, and the customer was also complaining of slow response from the panel.

The blank/black problem seems to have been wires in the panel pushing against the DIMM causing it to break contact. When I arrived at the customer the panel was black. Initially i tried the usual disconnect and reconnect the connectors trick, especially on the flat cables but didn't help any. Only after i started jiggling the DIMM did i get some response from the panel. I rerouted the wiring, and so far so good. Hope I'm right on this one. time will only tell

Firmware up to latest version seemed to solve the response issue. Other than the above the cust had some nitty gritties to tend to like jamming from cass 1 and bypass, nothing serious.

Thanks for your reply. I'm still interested in any other ideas you might have.

The problems I've found with unresponsive panels were all related to the flat ribbon cable rubbing on the outer panel covers. Just flipping from Accessibility to normal display position made the panel work temporarily. =^..^=

    I had a km-3060 doing that a while ago.
first thing I did was firmware. It was instantly much better!!!
Then about a week later, they phoned me and it was doing the same again.
I then formated the hdd I think u024
    It's been fine since then.
(been about 2 months now with no problems)

I've been told to always format the hdd after a firmware upgrade!!!
