What would cause a blank spot (more noticeble when copying 8.5x11R than 11x8.5). Spot is sort of rectangular in shape and in the same spot every time. Happening on the side of paper near back side of copier; appears on the bottom of page about 2-3 inches from the bottom. I've cleaned the trnsfr and A/C coronas, adjusted paper feed loop and trnsfk and A/C voltages. The only time it doesn't happen is when paper is ran back through copier 2nd time.
Thanks!!!

Does it happen more on the first few pages of a large run and then return to normal as more pages are output? Those machines will show blank areas during first run when the drum is starting to fail. If it happens all the time and always in the same place then it's probably something else. You might want to try cleaning the slit glass on the laser if it's not a drum problem.

Don't know will have to try it. My hope is there is enough print on the page in the area the problem is occurring that I'll be able to tell.
However if the answer to your question is yes or no what does that tell you???
Thanks for responding!!!

Printing the internal reports eliminates the scanner section of the machine. If you get the voids while printing the internal reports it narrows it down to the image formation section since internal reports are electronically generated.

Are you sure that you are not getting the same void on the backside of the duplexed copy? If it was a drum problem it should show up on both sides, may be at opposite end of the copy but still there.

Do yourself a favor and bring your own paper and run it through the machine. The only thing that comes to mind if it only occurs on the front side and not the back is moisture in the paper, running it through the fuser eliminates the moisture in the paper and the backside would come out fine.
