    Taskalpha 250i Print problems

I have a customer with a Taskalpha 250 which is set up with user accounts. He gives an account number to specific jobs and when he wants to print he has to input the accont number before the pc will send to the 250. But he has phoned to say that he keeps getting a message on the 250 saying "Incorrect account ID". This is happening on 2 of his 8 pc's, the other 6 are ok. Has anyone had this problem before ?
    Many thanks.

I don't know that I've experienced the same problem as you but here are some things I would try.

Use the account code on more than one PC. This will tell you if the code is valid or not.
Verify Job accounting is enabled under Administrator settings in the print driver.
The codes that don't seem to work for printing, try using them at the MFP control panel. If they work, verify the account does not have any restrictions set.
Reinstall the print driver on the problem PCs.
Disable Job Accounting at the MFP and try to print from the problem PCs without any codes. Maybe the PCs can't print at all, for some other reason?

    All good advice.

Just because there is no prompt, does not mean that an account code is automatically assigned. Check the print driver to confirm that the prompt for account code is selected and that the customer is entering a valid Id, and that the ID is not restricted for printing.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Fixing "Incorrect account ID. Job is canceled. Press [End]"

The printer may not have been set up on individual computers to send accounting credentials and they aren't entered correctly.

    1. Open up Firefox or Word and go to the File > Print menu.
    2. Select the Kyocera Printer from the drop down menu
    3. Under the third, unlabeled drop down menu (usually opening to "Copies and Pages") find Job Accounting.
    4. Check the Job Accounting box and enter 5220 into the Account ID field.
    5. Check the Lock these settings box to store the ID.

    If this doesn't work,
You may wish to remove the account requirements of the printer (and remove the printer configurations you made above.) This removes the accounting feature of the printer, but may be worth dispensing with the hassle, depending on your situation.

    1. Make sure account ID is entered correctly in the Kyoera's Settings
    2. At the "Enter account" prompt on the Copier, enter 5220 using keypad and press "Login" button on lcd
The main menu is displayed on the LCD
    3. Press "System menu" button on copier console in the upper left corner
    4. On LCD, press "User login / Accounting"
    5. Login user name. Enter 5000 and press enter on copier's console keypad.
    6. Type 5000 for login password too, and press enter.
    7. Press "Change" button labeled "Unknown ID job"
    8. Press "Permit" LCD button
    9. Press "OK" LCD button
    10. Press "Close" LCD button
    11. Press "System menu" console button

I ran into a similar problem... check that the drivers are set to spool the job and that bidirectional support is off in the printer driver. These two seem to fix issues when job accounting is failing and all else appears fine...
