Kyocera KM-1820 black lines

i have a customer on maintenace who has had this problem several times, i have found the mylar on the adf that rest on the slit glass gets dust under it , once i clean it with denatured alcohol and caned air problem goes away for about 2 months before they have any further problems

I have two of these models with this problem. I had to replace one machine for unsatisfied customer. Used the same ADF and fax board though. So I am looking at something in the main body as the problem.

Secondly, Is it when printing out or scanning in and sending faxes aswell?

This has been a problem for any new 1820 that has been going out. Normally I just blow out the dust on the slip glass and clean it with alcohol. This has worked for most of them, however I had to replace the scanner on one to fix this problem.

I have found that a static charge on the mylar strips if you open up the adf its located on the part above the slit glass it is either 3 or 4 mylar strips that kinda hang down dust particles builds up on these causing the black lines, i just tried a static aresal spray that is supposed to repel dust also I used a dryer sheet on another customers machines, too early to tell if either one of these has solved the problem
