Question KM-1128 skewing out of the box

Has anyone else had an issue with these machines and skew?

We have had a couple out of the box with some wicked skew. Had to replace the laser in one of them. Not wanting to do that again if we don't have to.

    Got any takers?

I had one last week skewing about 3 to 4mm out of the box. Checked the shutters, etc and the registration unit. Even adjusted the buckle trying to find what was going on. Finally discovered that the developing unit was causing the problem by swapping with another machine. Skew immediately went away. The dev unit has a metal plate on the bottom that acts like a guide or something. Couldn't determine if it was the guide and/or just the way the dev assy sat inside the machine, but it was immediate. Put the old dev unit back in and the skew came back pronto.

    The plate it is

It's the plate. Exchanged one from another DV and the skew straightened.
