    Question Strange problem KM-8030

    Hey guys,
This is a strange one...KM-8030 only jams when using the EDH paper exits machine and jams (finisher attatched j-81 without finisher j-60). This machine will run copies off of the glass all day long.
We have formatted the HDD, of course upgraded firmware, replaced main and engine pcb.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Jam 60 relates to the sensor locted between fuser and duplex, it actually sits underneath fuser exit, if this sensor is loose in any way secure it with superglue and put an extra turn on the actuator spring, hope this helps.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

    Thanks for the reply aabarnes1,

The sensor has been replaced twice. The problem is the 8030 will run copies from the target glass all day long. I can't get one out when using the doc feeder...

if printing does the same where it jams... then the problem is somewhere else
    if printing does not jam
then try switching the doc feeder or sparing that then the boards that fit in the doc feeder...

and before you surprise us again... tell us exactly what you do with the doc feeder... is it single sided... doublesided and so on... make sure to do the same with the glass and printing... cann't fairly help you... if you don't fairly tell us whats going on...

I'm still trying to figure out what an "EDH" is. It's just a guess based on the J81, but that's a funny way to spell Document Finisher or DF-650. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i just betcha she'll jam using 1 sided to 2 sided off the glass too. consider the eject mode difference between the feeder and the glass - odds are the feeder dumps face down and is using the duplexer and the glass just dumps face up. i would start with a thorough cleanin of the duplex and all the transport rollers to the join section (also clean the rear original sensor on the doc feeder (the one for legal/ledger) just to eliminate that) see if this helps any. gl

    Solution-Feedshift Gate Pad

This one was a difficult one to find.

The foam sound damping pad on the flanged stop for the feedshift gate becomes sticky, due to the fuser heat and age. There is a new style foam pad, but simply removing the existing pad and adhesive works quite nicely.

    Re: Strange problem KM-8030

Thanks Blackcat. I removed the pad and cleaned the residue and the problem went away.

My latest problem is a j83 everytime I power-up the unit. Opening and closing the top door on the DF clears the problem and the machine works great. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
