Km 5050/ false jam from sleep mode

Here's a good one..Kicking my ***...KM5050 runs fine all day no jamming or quality issues...HOWEVER, customer goes home at end of day, copier goes into energy save sleep after 4 hours...customer comes in next morning, pushes power on to wake copier up and it gives a Jam 80...(jam in finisher)..opening and closing any finisher door resets and all is well, all day. until next morning. same thing every morning.Updated firmware, cleaned sensors and verified operation through test mode...False jam only when coming out of sleep mode..Help?..

But to what level? This was supposed to be fixed in v. 2.20C, which was Sept 2008.
    Currently it's 2.44 04-27-10. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

It's @ version 2.44 definately..flashed it twice.. tech support wants me to check wall outlet.. Since it runs well all day, I have to rule out bad sensors, connectors, etc. because it would probably occur at least once or twice . I'm going to set sleep mode to 1 minute and try to see it myself..maybe even disconnect finisher to see what happens since Jam 80 is a finisher code

This is a real leap but you know some of these finishers do squirrely things because the connector inside the connector to the copier works it's way loose. Check it just to be sure.

can you duplicate it? put the machine to sleep and wait. do it in 15 minute intervals to see if you can duplicate it.

i second Jimbo's response. detach the finisher and see if it continues as well.

Machine was an Konica but the exact same problem. Only gave the jam code when coming out of sleep. It was a dirty paper sensor. Cleaned all the sensors and problem solved.

You must be getting a different jam code now if the finisher is unplugged. Check the exit unit and clean the paper path solenoid, the one that determines paper output. It sticks sometimes and if it's just sitting there... there could just be that little bit of gunk there that's screwing up paper timing.
