    KM 5050

I have a school with a Falcon III. when printing, copying or internal prints the first page is shifted off the lead side of the page. the rest of the pages come out correctly.

we have swapped the middle feed assy and lasers. this is happening from all trays and bypass. i have gone thru the page alignment steps and i can get the lead to the right placement, then print again, it shifts.

i brought it into the shop a month ago and it ran fine here for some reason. put it back and it went to do it again. i have put a 3050 in its place and it runs fine (thought maybe it was a power issue).

i'm begining to grasp at straws now. anyone seen this or have any insight?

    thanks

Swapping in a 3050 does not necessarily rule out a power issue, but a power quality analyzer will. As we all know each individual machine responds uniquely to power issues. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i was just thinking that the initial power up to create a copy might be a "surge" and cause it to misalign. then the issue goes to AC power supply (which is on the same circuit as a coffee pot) or the power components of the MFP itself. but if the coffee pot is affecting the 5050, i would THINK that the 3050 would be somewhat similar.

i'm gonna try what Kyoceradude recommended and see if that has any affect, nothing to lose at this point.

    thanks guys!

I've seen this happen on Sharp machines & it's always the resist/registration clutch that needs replaced.
    Hope that helps !

There haven't been problems with the Falcon III registration clutch. The only (2) records from the database search for Falcon III and "clutch" are:

    squeak from FCL1-clean
    no lift MP Tray-lift clutch wrapped-replace =^..^=
