Kyocera drivers 2008 x64 storage server

Windows 2008 storage server x64 with a print server

During the installation off several printers on a 2008 storage server with x86 client
We where not able to install the x86 driver under the sharing tab additional drivers.
    It’s looking for the i386 directory , that directory isn’t on a 2008 server.
After several minutes or hours the printers lockup on the server and the client where not able to print.
We did install several driver form kx driver to mini driver every time the same problem.

    The solution we found to install the x86 driver is the following;

Install the driver on de x64 server en log on to a x86 client.
Download the x86 driver form the web to the x86 client and extract the file,
Install the printer form the server en point to the x86 driver that was downloaded from the web
After the installation go to the local properties of the printer .
Under the share tab go to additional drivers en click on x86.
The x86 driver will be uploaded to the x64 server in \\system32\driverstore\
After that it will be possible to install the x86 driver on the server by pointing to the above location on the server.

For the lock problem you have to disable snmp communication in the tcp\ip poort settings
Client with a diverend Unicode wil also have a problem to install the printer make sure
It’s the same as on the sever where the printer is.
Does someone have any ideas about this, or experience with this problem.

Personally I think that was an ingenius way around that problem. I haven't encountered it yet, but will keep your solution in mind. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Kyocera drivers 2008 x64 storage server

Hi, I did have something in common. Windows 2008 R2 64 environment and 32bit clients (mixed xp, vista and 7) .Continuously snmp error messages. Also, on the clients , the A3 format selection is not there in the list of formats. Customer cannot print on A3. Also, synchronisation of the options via the driver settings is not possible, or is possible but options are lossed after 1 minute.
I am getting crazy of these Kyo shit drivers. All the small drivers like pcl5, pcl6 and even the mini-KPDL are full of bugs concerning collating, or number of copies, okay, these are small issues, but for our customers very important. And if you use the kx driver in a citrix environment, the spool file explodes (up to 200MB) for files originally 250kB tall.
