Did you install the Universal driver? If yes, the universal driver does not store any configuration data. At the commencement of each print command the driver reaches out to the printer at whatever port is selected, and acquires configuration data. That's just how it works. If you don't like it load the appropriate KX driver. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    I would try two things:
    1. Try a different network cable/switch.
    2. Check for IP conflicts on the network. Find out what IP address the printer is using, then unplug the network cable and ping the same IP address to see if some other device replies.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

Now I'm more confused than before.

Why would you think it would print if you did not send a print command?
How fast was the machine going before you plugged in the network cable? I'm willing to bet it wasn't printing at all.

    Maybe you could clarify. =^..^=

This is an older topic, but I did want to put my 2 cents for those having any similar issue. I have had a Sharp copier do the same thing and ONLY slowed to a crawl when the network cable was plugged in. I suggested the company to contact their IT (even though their IT said nothing was wrong) and eventually they redid their network by replacing cables and routers/switches as needed. This ended up fixing the problem along with some other issues on their network. I can verify that copier did not have an IP conflict and had to do with someting faulty on the network.

I too wanted to put in my 2cents. I have seen a similar problem only when printing and scanning, this was with a bizhub c252 and c450. The job would crawl like molasses. It ended up being faulty wiring. I have also seen bad router/switch with packet loss do the similar symptoms. So chances are it was probably their network.

    Re: fs-1128 freeze

What kind of OS are the customers using?
