    KM 5530 Trashing Drums!

Hi! I have a customer with a small fleet of KM-5530's. Within the past few months I've replaced 3 drums that keep getting horrible lines after about 20,000 copies. I've never had this issue before... blades are good, developer's new, same source for drums. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

When you say "trashing", are you talking about scape marks, arc marks, poor cleaning, ... what?

If it's physical scrape marks you'll need to find what's scraping the drum, like the mag roller (broken spacers), or an alignment post on one of the units (allowing it to bounce around). Obviously, it won't be easy to see since you have to remove the units to investigate. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

By the "same source", do you mean Kyocera, or are these aftermarket drums? I beg and plead with the parts guy not to get me aftermarkets for these machines because they don't last even half as long as the OEM's. I have noticed that the drum pickers will carve lines in the aftermarket drums. The same is true of the OEM drums, but the lines aren't as prominent, and they never appear on the printed image.

I have seen with the falcon 2's that the after market toners will ruin the drums with about 20000-30000 copies.
