I'm gonna guess this is a LAN issue, as we dont have crazy amount of calls yet saying theirs smb not working.

anything I can check on my side? Its not permission, not path.

If they're using domain log in's, the domain name needs to be in caps in the user authentication. ex. COMPANY\joe.smith
Make sure the folder is shared and everyone has rights to write to that drive. Create a user for the copier.
You might try calling the hotline & getting them to log in & take a look.
    Hope that helps !

It's been that way since at least the falcon III. We haven't been a Kyo dealer any longer than that. You have to use the host name in the username field if there is not a login for the PC.
    Hope that helps !

Sorry. I knew that. Must have valid login, must have valid password (not blank). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Nah, you don't need a password. That field can be blank, but the username cannot. If there is no user login for the PC, you have to copy the host name into the login field. The PC doen't need/use it, but the MFP HAS to have it for some unknown reason.
    Hope that helps !

yeh, no password here. What I dont understand is how the machine was able to use anonymous login.

I checked the send log, the scanning was fine til the day we pull the plug.

I'll always use username now lol.

The username for the NAS that worked, wasnt 'admin', wasnt host name. it was a permission type.

    thx gents.

So essentially here if all the permissions are set up for EVERYONE or Anonymous then all the Kyoceras need for SMB scanning is a valid username? or just any username? I havent tried doing this yet just curious to the anonymous SMB way of things

You are correct. It's a machine thing requiring the username field to be required. I assume it'll work with anything, although I've never tried it that way. I always use the host name there if there is no logon.
    Hope that helps !

wireshark is a good tool, a wise man told me to use it.

the packet description says "access denied", with anonymous login. That's how I figure that it was permssion...oh silly me
