faint display
OK GOT A KM-3O40 WHERE THE DISPLAY WILL NOT ADJUST ENOUGH TO BE SEEN IN REGULAR LIGHT . YOU CAN TURN IT WAY UP AND IT IS VERY LIGHT AND WHEN YOU TURN IT DOWN IT IS COMPLEATLY BLANK. HAVE CHANGED THE LCD DISPLAY (2JB45010 LCD OPERATION) AND THE (2JB94040 PARTS,PWB OPERATION TOP ASSY SP) WITH NO LUCK.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
There have been times that the room light was so blindingly bright that it was impossible to read any LCD display. I remember a particular dentist's office that had floor to ceiling glass on three walls. Not only could I not read the display, if there were too many consecutive sunny days the drum would suffer light shock from the sunlight shining in through the vents in the back of the copier. I couldn't convince them to move the machine, and MacGuyvered some vent covers like on the new Konica Minoltas. I'm assuming that you'd have thought of that.
This suggests to me that the backlight is good in the new LCD display, but the inverter is probably failing.
I can't remember if it's the right, left or center PWB that has the inverter. Just follow the wires (pink & black?) from the backlight to the PWB. The CS-2560 has it's own little inverter PWB solely for that purpose.

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

thanks black cat looked it up in the parts list and ordereed the "right PWB" will update when done
found the problem last tech that was there tried to short cut the touch screen replacement and there were wires shorting out to the frame

If it's what I did, you just have to route the ribbon cable properly, through the loop instead of pinned against the metal.
