recheck all your connections...you've either got a poor connection or a bad board.

This unit uses the print system Q. The C0240 error is a communication error between the Print System and the Copier. This peoblem can be caused by the F-Dimm being corrupt. The F-Dimm contains the firmware for the Print System and it it is corrupt you will get this error.

You can purchase an F-Dimm from Kyocera if they are still available or remove the F-Dimm and clean the contacts, send the unit to a board repair facility for repairs.

I have recently seen this on the Print System U. The Print Board had the optional Hard Drive installed which crapped out. Copying was fine but when you hit the Printer button, Self Test would appear for a while, then C-0240. If the board has the (2.5in) Hard Drive installed, remove it and see if the problem goes away. For most customers, this is not needed to print. Unless the customer is printing like 500 pages at a time or so. If there is no hard drive, physically look at the board and see if something blew out. Look for any kind of burns. And let's not forget our good friend Sim 906.

Sim 906 has no effect on the print system and the hard disk drive will usually give a disk error. C0240 is a communication error brtween the print system and the copier.

Having the same issue with an older KM-2530. I have replaced the engine PCB and upgrade machine firmware. Machine when rebooted only shows Self Test in printer screen, also have tried another controller with same result.

C0240 KM3035/4035 5035. Communication error. Printer is not communicating with the Main/Engine board. Most common cause Corrupt firmware in printer, next is a bad printer board. I have never seen it caused be main copier board, yet. Updating copier firmware will not correct. You will probably need to order the code Dimm (contains firmware) from Kyocera. When there is the C0240 error you usually cannot update the printer firmware with the CF card, but it may be wirth a try.
