    Secret Service Code on Kyocera

    Hi Techs,
Anyone able to provide the secret service mode code on the new Kyocera Taskalfa range?
I know the 1087 one works ok. But I'm talking about the secret code.
    Cheers

You mean the engineering access code ? No, you can't have it.
Did I have a dream, or did the dream have me?

Re: Secret Service Code on Kyocera

Why would they want anybody to ever be able to do that through the use of a code?

Makes me leary now, what models and what other brands can this possibly be done to through some for of super secret code?

How will one ever know the true condition of a machine if it's a low count machine?...

Every manufacturer has a "secret" code. Ever have to have the tech rep come out when a machine totally crashes and have them put the copy count back in? That's how they do it. No big secret, just have to know the log in sequence. Kyocera used to be 3036 3036 but it has changed on the new stuff. Ricoh has one, Sharp, Canon, everyone. If you are in this business long enough you get to know them.

Each new series that comes out have a new code.

That is why 3036 or 0044 or 8453 or 7520 or 18__ work only on individual machines!

the only time "secret codes" were used in my old company in the 90's were for clocking a meter reading or altering the toner supply on sharp copiers (parsia toner!) - so nothing good can come of it. there called secret codes for a reason to stop mere mortals fucking them up or doing something dodgy.
