We are seeing these codes frequently on models listed, only when set up on network, USB printing seems fine. We have installed latest firmware and disabled unused protocols per advice of rep. but it hasn't seemed to help. Anyone else had these issues. Thanks.

Do you have Barcode Font CF cards loaded to these machines? A bad CF card can cause the errors. You might try changing print driver versions. CF248 is a print data error. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We do not have bar code font cf cards loaded to these machines. We will try an earlier driver. Thanks.

On one occasion I had a Saturn machine erroring out CF248 just when initialization was complete. But only when it was on the network. It turned out that there was a laptop somewhere in the building that was sending out corrupt print data. When the machine was re-booted sometimes a few pages got through before that laptop queued up it's job, and errored out the machine. Here's the problem: there are hundreds of PC's on the network. Which one is sending out corrupt data, and how can I get it to stop (even temporarily)?

My answer is pretty creative, maybe one of the IT guys here can explain exactly how it works. I remove the MFP from the network, and set my laptop with the same static IP address that the MFP had. The print job arrives successfully at my laptop and clears the print queue, but since my laptop is not a printer the job cannot be processed and just disappears.

That doesn't resolve the source of the corrupt print data, but it does clear the corrupt data from the queue without involving IT/admin. And you can be sure that its corrupt data, not a hardware error.

Have also seen that error, my customer had a worker from another branch would connect their laptop to network when she visited and try to print and give cf248, she had a Ricoh 1060 print driver still in use pointing to their F4....We had half a dozen calls before I figured it out.

Thanks for the info. We have a good relationship with the IT at this customers office. We will pursue it from that angle. By the way we were installing the enhancement kit on a 8000i and were missing the reg. plate and sensor mylar. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a seperate item? Thanks again.

We have discovered customers IT staff has installed 64 bit driver on server, workstation is 32 bit. Apparently no error was displayed. We are hoping this is the problem.

Let us know. Honestly it sounds too simple, but sometimes you get lucky ... =^..^=
