    Unhappy TASKalfa 300ci F248 error

    Hello,

I have a 300ci printer which a few minutes ago displays "self-diagnosing...please wait" message together with the F248 code. One of the users was trying to copy, selected the duplex option and right after that the error message showed.

    How can I fix that?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Re: TASKalfa 300ci F248 error

On one occasion I had a Saturn machine erroring out CF248 just when initialization was complete. But only when it was on the network. It turned out that there was a laptop somewhere in the building that was sending out corrupt print data. When the machine was re-booted sometimes a few pages got through before that laptop queued up it's job, and errored out the machine. Here's the problem: there are hundreds of PC's on the network. Which one is sending out corrupt data, and how can I get it to stop (even temporarily)?

My answer is pretty creative, maybe one of the IT guys here can explain exactly how it works. I remove the MFP from the network, and set my laptop with the same static IP address that the MFP had. The print job arrives successfully at my laptop and clears the print queue, but since my laptop is not a printer the job cannot be processed and just disappears.

That doesn't resolve the source of the corrupt print data, but it does clear the corrupt data from the queue without involving IT/admin. And you can be sure that its corrupt data, not a hardware error. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

CF264 / CF248 when unit is turned on Occurs when the default cassette size/type is changed from Auto/Plain. With current firmware on power up, gets CF-248. For now change paper/media type back to default: Auto/Letter. Japan Eng are aware.

Wow, that's amazing . I'd never thought something like that. I'll try it!

For now seems like the corrupt file it's gone BUT the COMMAND CENTER says "Status:Warning" (before it said Status: Error). Is this because of the corrupt file too?

A lot of them say that. No reason I know of. Everything is functional, as far as I can determine. I even had somebody ask about that once. =^..^=

They will say "warning" when paper is low in a try or toner is low, it will say "error" when it can't print

The F248 code is a printer process error. The magic answer? You guessed it firmware.

    - Clear printer queue.
    - Update firmeware.
    - Change printer driver (KX ver 6.0...)
