Kyocera 6230 Scanner dissappeared

I have a Kyocera 6230 with the scanner option. The menu on the screen of the machine for scanner has dissappeared. I can ping the machine and access the scanner menu through a web browser, but on the machine itself no scanning option. Please help.

when you say disappeared what do you mean, when you press the scanner button you see no options there(completely blank) or is the scan to file or email missing or do you get a code?
Have you tried to re-seat the scanner card and does it have the latest firmware?

I agree with Knightfall, what do you mean disappear? If the display is visable but just not functioning you can also try maint mode 906 to reset the disable mode. Other than that suggestion, I would need more precise information.

Scanning

Make sure that you are inputting your users in the right list. Senders list, is what will show on screen. You could be populating a different senders list or destination list.

I guess a good place to start would be re-seating the Scanner NIC and running a 906.

Red face Maybe a fix..

I have this... I think the Hard Drive in the back of the machine has failed. If I remember scans go there first. I have a feeling that if you look at the service call codes you will see a code for the HD. You didn't say if you can still print. Again you may be able to send over 1 sheet or 1 job, but not multiple sets that need the HD to hold and spool. If its the HD, big bucks from KMA. Preformatted from them. I couldn't find one to work, looks like its a Linux boot. Good luck. Let us know.

IIRC You can use any 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive. Format it in the machine.

This works for KM 2530, etc.

Cool Wrong drive

Not on this machine. This take a somewhat standard ATA 100 drive. There is no hard drive on the side as the .30, .35 machines. This one is mounted in the bottom back of the machine. Seagate was the vendor. You can try others as per a Sim # I can't remember. They had different numbers for different vendors, but no one has a chart.
