Question Kyocera 300i makes dirty copies ONLY through ADF....

Kyocera 300i makes dirty copies ONLY through ADF.... when placed on the glass copiers are just fine. Perhaps light is slipping in someplace?

Anyone see this phenomenon before? See attached scan.

Yes I have. There's an adjustments for the DP in the maint. mode. Forget which one(I think its black line something or other). Look in the service manual for mode list. Sometimes setting the value to default will solve it.

I saw at the left that the letters are stretched. This has to do with DP height adjustment. It might also be the cause of the dirty copies. Before you change settings, I'd fix the height first.

    Ditto that. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We adjusted the height and one or two other things and now it is good to go. Thanks for the responses!
