Re: Taskalfa 180 Firmware upgrading !!
I am rather surprised that you have been a member since 2009, have 351 posts and still do not know how to perform a firmware update on a Kyocera Mita copier. To update the firmware in this model you must use a CF (Compact Flash) card.
Maybe, just maybe it also would be a wise idea to purchase a service manual for this model. The way to make your customer happy is to do the job right the first time.

Re: Taskalfa 180 Firmware upgrading !!
Most of your Kyocers power supplies will shut down if thet detect too much current. So you might start by disconnecting connectors one at a time and see if the fan keeps operating. I am not so sure this is a firmware issue. You first stated when the copier was turnes on the fan started to run but quit, this leads me to think of possible shorted components or something drawing too much current shutting down the power supply. I know for sure on the KM-3035 series that if the PSU detects too much current it will shut down and has a 10 to 15 minute delay until it will turn back on. I could be wrong but with no display and fans trying to turn on but dont it might be worth a try.

Upper Right rear of machine metal cover with one screw. An engineer should also know the value of using the right tools, including a service manual!
