I did a cleaning of this machine and a day later the copies turned black. Prints and internal reports are fine. Checked optics and connections. Lamp does come on. Mirrors are in position ok. HAs anyone seen this?

Reset the scanner lock. It will prevent the scanner from going to the scanner start position with no errors.
Thanks brother! Will check and see.
Just had the client check the position of the scanner lock and it was unlocked . I had them lock then unlock then reset the machine and still same thing. Not sure what else? This is a real puzzler.
It sounds like a dust ball or something worked it's way into the light path. I would try re-cleaning the optics...
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.
There is a bulletin regarding this exact issue, requires replacing the main board from Kyocera if under warranty. Thtere are repair centers thar also repair this problem as well. A transistor array that controls the CIS on/off signal fries and needs to be replaced.

Unfortunately kkendric is correct. You may also get errors C3200. Replace main PWB. Error C0180 appears on power up (serial number mismatch). Run sim U004 to restore serial number on main PWB. Re-enter network and addressbook data.
When you move the machine around, make sure you don't lock the scanner. It's easy to do. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
