Need help!!!!!!
Working on 300ci and it is uneven in density on Black copy only. front side is light. Put in new Black drum. has a relatively new transfer belt unit. cleaned everything. They have had this before and we replaced the transfer belt unit and it relieved the problem, but they have only put 40k on new transfer belt unit and its happening again.
Magenta is also have front side uneven density too. Very dirty environment. could the laser cluster have dirt inside of it?
If you have put the foam modification on the black drum, remove it, sometimes it actually moves the black dev unit away causing uneven density across the page.
So you know the answer ... you just don't like the answer?
There's not a lot I can do about what you like or don't like. There should be a special category of forum posts just for people who refuse to fix the problem, even though they know how. And there won't need to be a Reply-To-Thread button since there is no real reply necessary. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Just changed Black Drum unit. Same problem.

This is the answer. Take the laser apart and clean the polygon mirror. Common problem is oily enviroments.Originally Posted by evest
