Easiest way to scan to PDF (I'm having trouble)

I've set up our KM-2050 to put all sent/received faxes on our file server and want to be able to easily scan to a PDF from paper at the copier but have had trouble making it a simple process.

Presently the only way to make it work is to put paper in the tray, hit the scan button, select scan to PC, select the 001 server address, exit that menu, go to the public book (on the copier screen), select the 001 Server address again), exit that screen, exit the scan screen and then it says it's ready to scan. Hitting the green button will put the file on the server but too many button presses for our average user to figure out.

We don't need to set up multiple users or locations, we scan to a single location and all our users (all 4 of them) know to go there to see there scans.

What do I need to do to simplify this process to maybe 1 or 2 button presses at the copier? Seems like it should be intuitive but not so with the KM software.

Any attempt to just select the server and exit results in "select destination" and that leads me into the "public book" etc. Too complicated.

Appreciate everyone's help.

Well that puts it out of contention for my empoloyees who say all the buttons look alike and all the menus are the same. Strange why KY would have made this so kludgy. Why not one list of addresses bing bang boom. I guess we'll continue with "Hey can you scan this in for me". At least I get my exercise.

The only thing I've found to improve scanning is "skipping the sender select."
On the Scanner webpage, go to "Scanner Default Setting" and click on "[Extension]" on the top-right side of the page. Change the last option "Skip sender (user) select" to On. (BTW, the scanner options don't work quite right with Firefox, so try IE)
You'll still need at least one sender set up in the Sender List.

It's almost the same process as scanning on a Falcon 1 or 2, but you're stuck navigating everything with arrow keys instead of a touchscreen. All it really needs is One-touch keys like the newer machines have.

I changed "skip sender" to on and it did make things better. I've basically eliminiated 1 step from the process and it is now probably going to be trainable to my users. Thanks for your post.

I wish they had a way to default "scan to PC" to always be ON. That's what I really want.
