Re: Robert B.
If it was not happening on copies why did you change the drum, dv unit and clean the laser? Aren't they also used in copying? Good chance this problem is main or engine board related. Copying probably uses different IC's than internal printing and printing from a computer. Just an observation.

Re: Robert B.
I to am having a similar problem and I have replaced everything that has anything to do with copy quality but mine does it during any process, KDA is leaning toward LSU

Re: Robert B.
OK, so hang me for a Fool! The copies it was making DID look ALOT better than the prints, but my Super took a look and said that he could see the uneven density on the copies too. (Ha!, "Sure", says I)
So I went back out there today and dug the LSU out of the guts of the machine, opened it up and cleaned all the lenses and the polygon mirror. (BTW, the LSU is easy to get into once you get to it: just one screw and about 5 plastic "hooks") The polygon mirror was the only place I could really see any contamination. Put it back together and, Viola!, perfectly even copy density.
Thanks, Brian. And thanks all for the suggestions!
I gotta get outta this bidness.

Re: Robert B.
Was the DPI different for printing from computer reports etc?
