Kyocera KM 505 driver and network install problem

    Hi,

I wan't to install my km5050 on windows 7 64bit. When I plug it on usb it gives me just some unknown device and oem code.
I run the Installer pack from Kyocera site and it won't detect the machine. After that I installed generic windows km5050 drivers but the Kyocera installer still doesn't see the machine.
Printer is printing with generic drivers but I want to have all the options and network setup.

    Thx guys

If you want all the network capabilities, don't you need a network?

For starters I'd connect via TCP/IP not USB. If you don't have additional network ports install a simple switch. Then use the KX driver, because generic or universal drivers do not have all the features that you desire and they cannot recognize all the machine options. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You are right about network, lets ignore network for now.
Installer won't detect my machine over usb and I can't install driver. It should detect it over usb right?

    PS

Can I hard reset the machine without touch pad?

Why do you assume it's a printer problem? It's much more common to have a dead USB port on you PC (especially Win7). If you insist on using USB, try another USB port or PC to confirm whether it's a printer or PC problem. =^..^=

If you lucky and DHCP is OFF and you have network plugged in and all is working you may be able to get it through Counter> and then just hit and miss trial until you get green light to print Counter report. There you'll have your IP settings and then hook your laptop to the machine with the same IP range and you might be in luck to get to web page interface and amend settings to your requirements.

If its on DHCP then just hook it to your router and laptop and have a look in router what IP is connected on and look at the web interface that way..

USB is used to print in case your network is down and you are desperate for paycheque

    Good luck¬!
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

Is there a way to tell the machine to scan and sent from PC, not using a touchpad?

TWAIN scanning can be done, when you set up a network connection, not USB. =^..^=

Installed the network Now I have to see that Twain option. Is that a separate utility?

Yes. Download and install the TWAIN driver:

You haven't specified what country, so I'll assume US-English. If you want something else, it will be found easily on this website. =^..^=
