Updating the firmware fixed our issue. It didn't get done when the board was replaced & I'm guessing they had different firmware versions.

I had a ta 300i and firmware fixed same issue.

When in doubt; firmware!
I do remember an issue with the bad main pwb copying the black pages that with one level of FW it would still let you print and receive faxes but if you updated it you got a service code and couldn't do anything with it at all until you replaced the main pwb so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a firmware issue....
Edit: Now that I think aobut it I do recall that if you did replace the main pwb for the black page issue and did not update the FW on it you couldn't send/fax at all..so yeah....update the firmware..
