    Add paper - cassette 1 - Kyocera Taskalfa520i

    Hi guys,

Have a problem with a taskalfa 520i, machine works okay but it randomly puts up a message on screen while mid print "Add paper to Cassette 1", even if the cassette is full of paper. Pick up assembly is okay, cassette is okay and replaced the lift motor with a new one but still the problem persists. And everything from cassette 2 works perfectly also. Firmware up to date.

    Any suggestions please.

Swap feed units 1 and 2 to see if problem follows.

What I find works best in this situation for me is.. I take a can of compressed air or blowerbulb, and remove the paper feed assy, and blow off the whole unit get all the sensors cleaned out. This usually works for me, I run into this problem because of places using cheap paper and they don't fan it and creates paper dust like mad.

Had swapped them already to see if problem followed and it didn't, that's how I know the assembly is okay.

My guess is that this is the first sign of lift motor failure. Change it now, before you need to change the engine board too. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
