    CS 3050ci image problems

    Hello again folks.

This machine has us thoroughly perplexed. Status pages, and other internal prints look excellent. SMB Scans look excellent. Copies and external prints are giving us image issues at the top of the page. The fill is poor.

We've done firmware, 906'd it, and a variety of the service steps in adjust/maintenance.

We were considering trying a 21 as a last ditch effort. Called in to help desk, awaiting their response as well.

    any ideas?

    samples man!(hippie accent)

Which orientation is the paper coming out?

have you check the rollers on the transferbelt, are they detached?

    samples!

    ask and you shall receive.

again, the image is light on external prints and copies. Internal Prints and scans do not show any image issues. That even includes calibration sheets and color test pages.

First thing we did. Also tried replacing the lens in the scanning unit. And again, The image looks fine on a scan. Optics would affect the scan if it were the issue

Went back today, cleaned charge rollers in each drum unit, and cleaned the lasers underneath, did a 21, replaced all of the filters. No change. Here is a couple of print jobs I sent to the machine, it fades the edge facing away from you printing both longways and sideways. please see the attached.

Have you tried printing or copying in mon color mode to see if it makes a difference when printing all cyan or all magenta or all yellow ( not that all yellow is easy to see anyway ). That might at least narrow the problem down some.

That particular original doesn't have bands of color that extend edge to edge ... like this:

Color Test Pattern LTR-R.JPGColor Test Pattern LTR.JPG

So I can't tell a lot. I can see that it's primarily cyan that is missing toward the bottom of your map images. Don't waste your time with U021. You'll just create hours of additional work trying to recover the image quality to where you are right now.

Have you done any color calibration, registration, toner curve? If yes, start with the cyan primary charge roller, then calibrate. If it's still bad, then the cyan developing unit, then calibrate. Try these originals. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
