    KM 5050 duplex printing error(cassette 1)

    Hi guys.

My machine suddenly started giving me error when duplex printing from cassette 1. It was working fine before.

1 case: It starts fine giving me 2 duplex prints then prints only on one side and ejects the paper, error pops out (paper jam) with next paper in line waits in the middle of paper feeder.
2 case: Again starts good then ejects only one side print and the next paper starts coming out, error pops out (paper jam) with that next paper being half way out.

Any ideas what is the cause of this ?

Printing one sided on cassette 1 is ok and cassette 2 is printing duplex just fine.

Jam code? Media type? Media size? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

First print the event log and analyze latest jams you've had (use the service manual). In your case i would check middle feed assy (gear holder plastic can break) and as Tonerkiller mentioned, turnover section on the left side big door which can deform due to fuser hear and toner likes to stick to it.

Code is JAM61, plain A4 paper. Yesterday I did find a small plastic holder ring in my Cassette 1 tray. Don't know where it came from :/

In that case the duplex paper conveying switch DUPPCSW or feed switch 1 FSW1 (also check it's actuator) could be faulty. Run U031 and turn those switches on and off manually.

Hey guys problem fixed for now !

I disassembled mid feeder section and cleaned all the rollers, I spread the springs behind the rollers.
Found that the plastic holder ring was from small clutch motor on mid left section, assembled all and now duplex is working .

I don't know if the holder ring was to blame or dirty(and old) rollers, springs.
I suspect the rollers didn't have grip to pull back the paper but then Cassette 2 wouldn't work also hm hm.

What type of grease or oil do you use for those small rotating parts like plastic rollers? I noticed that there was some green grease applied.

    Anyone uses silicon spray?

Not silicone, not spray, not silicone spray. 3 in 1 Oil or TriFlow is preferred, and just a drop or two, only if it makes noise. Dry is better if it's quiet.

Take a look at the feed tires, maybe replace them first. I know this sounds strange, but I had a machine with the exact same problem as the one you describe and feed tires was the fix.
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success

Well I can't find that oil in Croatia And if I get it over ebay I don't know if it will be original.
Any other lubricants that are good enough?

    PS

So I need a dry oil lubricant?
