    Kyocera KM2550 dark copies

I am working on a KM2550. I installed an entire PM kit but the copies have a lot of dirty/dark background and there's somewhat of a 1" or so darker band on the back and maybe a somewhat darker 2" band on the front. It had/has Katun toner in it.

You need to get new developer and OEM toner, than run U130 to replenish it. You could also empty and vacuum current developer, put OEM toner in and run U130.

Also take my advice: Never put anything but OEM toner in Kyocera machines.

That's what I thought. I've seen Katun toner work fine in multiple machines so I figured it must be something else. Confusing why it is bad in this machine and not the other ones. But I'm going to switch dev. and toner now.
    Thanks,

Katun toner on this series loves to cake up on the fuser really bad....then fog up your optics real bad as well...We had our little Katun run on this series that went badly...that shit was eating up fusers at around 8-10k...

    It's monocomponent.
So it's all developer. So all you need is toner and your vacuum ... and possibly your green scrubbie to clean up the developing roller.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I did clean out the dev. section and change the toner and problem solved. Funny, I just got a call from another customer today who buys their toner on-line. They have exactly the same symptom. This time I'll get to charge for the fix. By the way, will a green scrubbie hurt the dev roller?
    Thanks all!

No, it won't damage the roller. And the dry process is infinitely preferable to using a solvent, then trying to rinse it off with alcohol, then mottling, then dry-wiping the roller, then more mottling, then more dry-wiping, ... then good copies. =^..^=
