One of those old tech tricks that just doesn't work anymore.

Those of you that have been around for a while may have used this tech trick:

If you've got a fuser that's caked up with toner and needs a lot of cleaning, you can drip 6 to 10 drops of fuser oil into the nipp of the fuser rollers and just let the motor cycle. Open the door, then close it and let it warm up a few times. It loosens up the hard toner that's really difficult to scrub off. A lot of the toner and oil will feed off onto the first piece of paper passing. Just don't duplex that first few pages or you'll have to clean fuser oil off the duplex rollers. Then when you apply your favorite cleaner the job is a lot easier.

Well I tried this trick on a Venus (KM5550ci), and it didn't like it a bit. The machine went right into C6600. I cleared the code 5 or 6 times, thinking that it would cycle normally, and it just didn't. The thermistors and thermostats tested normally. As a last resort, I wiped off every drop of fuser oil, and wiped clean the thermistors. The code cleared, and it began working immediately.

My guess is that the fuser oil heats up just like the roller in response to the IH heater coil. The oil on thermistors reaches the desired temperature too quickly, throwing off the anticipated warmup timing.

Can anybody confirm or controvert my explanation? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The reason you got the code is because the fuser roller is driven from the machine. The pulse disc sensor that determines if the fuser is being driven is on the belt. The oil makes the roller too slippery to drive the belt. I know because I have done what you did. That is why you got a rotation error. The way I lube to clean now, is 1/2 the fuser at a time. I put a little fuser oil on the rear side of the fuser, run a couple of blank sheets through, then put a couple of drops on the front side, then run a couple of sheets through.
