If by "dropping out" you mean disapearing off the network or showing it is offline, try a diff port on their router or a new router. You can also try reassigning a diff ip to the copier. I have had all these scenarios and more cause printers to "drop Off"

possible bad cable or connection? can go to command prompt and perform "ping -t" to get a continuous ping response.. (use control + c to stop pinging)

I have had a problem with a 5035 dropping off the network. Turn off Bonjour in the web interface.
    Hope this helps

Test the power quality. I had a CS-5050 that kept dropping off the network, then picking back up by itself. The power analyzer picked up 18 events of ground-neutral voltages in 24 hours.

The problem disappeared when the dedicated line was installed.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

thanks for the response. we have found that may very well be the case. we, actually swapped the machine with a known working one that we were using in the shop. it did the same thing. we then checked the line it was plugged into and found an excessive ground voltage. any way thanks for the advice. rb12

On my machine, from the beginning it looked like one of those cases where you change every board on the machine, and it's still not working. My clue was that the only two machines we were having trouble with were in the same building.

I rented the PQA for this one use, but we really need to keep this little sweetie on hand all the time. It can be really hard to document this sort of thing. Even then, the customer doesn't believe you.
