Background when copying from scanner and adf only

Im working on a Taskalpha 250 Ci and when i copy a coloured document from the glass in autocolour or full colour modes i get a blue shade which covers the entire page. The coloured image almost looks very over exposed but all copy settings are on default. I have cleaned optics and sone all calibrations in user mode and also halftone adjustments and it came good for about two days. Internal copies are fine. I havd seen this and can fix it on a ricoh but i pretty useless when it comes to Kyocera. I apologise if tjia has already been addressed in the past but i cannot find anything pn it apart from 1 poat but it does not really gove a answer. I think there are scanner calibrations but cannot find how to so ao in manuals. All help appreciated. I have a sample but camnot upload for now but can do

Have not worked on colour kyocera for years so i could be wrong. Check if there is a white plate under the platen/slit glass, clean the plate and the lamp itself and do calibration again. Update firmware too.

I have already cleaned the optics and even lightly wiped the lamp but have not done firmware as i believe in these Kyoceras makes a huge difference but that will def be done when i return to the callout without fail. Im hopeless on These kyoceras and i understand that all brands are similar i believe they are very different

That is a well known issue on those models when color copying. In order to remove that background, enter U429, than select text+photo. In your case, change the C value to -2 and it will be gone. Same goes for any other CMY color background.

Thanks Kyo fan. I will do that when i return. So i take it if if had a magenta background i would just change the value of the mag text photo mode in U429. Will the value hold thats all im worried about as with the calibrations it seemed to have corrected it and then just came back. Thanks so much for your help

we had this issue on a 2550ci. The issue was that the yellow plastic screw that serves as the scanner lock was still in just enough that it didnt interrupt the process but it moved that unit just enough to cause the image to look almost like it was a "picture" of the image.

Also check that your optics are in focus. Unfocussed optics can produce a broad rand of color variation, the more pronounced effect at the furthest end of the scanner travel. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

And if all else fails, get the chart to calibrate the CCD.
    Hope that helps !
