Rep Power: 2 | KM5050 error code CFB31. Not in manual Machine will not boot up, just goes to blue screen and displays CFB31 error. There is nothing in the service manual or on the website about this.

Rep Power: 2 | Not Much but will point you in the right direction According to my info this is a communication problem between the Panel PCB (don't know which one) and the controller PCB (I suppose this the main PCB - Difficult to say because i have the info in German and have to translate). Symptoms are as you said a blue, or black screen. Possible source of fault is Panel PCB, controller PCB, or connection cable

Rep Power: 2 | what I did I just replace the main PWB and hard drive from a different machine.. it now boots up but goes into a CFB30 error code.. but at least I got rid of the blue screen!!! is it possible that this error is because the machine I borrowed the board from is a 5050?

Rep Power: 2 | CFB30 related to CFB31 My info Gives the same symptoms for this code as for CFB31. but instead of communication error between panel PCB and controller PCB, says it is only comm. error with controller PCB.

Rep Power: 6 | First thing to try is to change the Dimms there is a set under the ops panel, and a one in the main board, you MUST change them as a pair. If thats no good swap the ops panel complete but remember to swap the dimms in the panel so you keep the same pair on the machine.
Good Luck.
Let us know how you get on............

Rep Power: 2 | that was it! I had taken the board out of the 5050 to see if that was the problem and I still got the error. I brought the op panel over from the 5050 and the error went away. So it was the fact that I didnt have all the original dimms together.
THANKS!!! | | | |

Rep Power: 15 | The firmware was at different levels. All you needed to do was reload firmware to the latest v. 2.05A. The date that shows on the Configuration Report is 1/28/08.

Rep Power: 3 | I had a 3050 that triggered a CFB31 code only when it the network cable was plugged in. Disconnect it, reboot the machine, everything works. Plug it back in, reboot, CFB31. Turns out the other end of the network cable was plugged into a switch which had another network cable with BOTH ENDS plugged into the switch creating a loop. Connected everything the right way, code went away.
