Rep Power: 0 | Root Password for ScanSystem F Hello everybody,
we are using a Kyocera KM-1650 with scan system f. We have the problem that the password, which is set for the configuration pages on the scan system, is unknown because the guy who sets the password is no more longer in the company.
Is a telnet login possible to reset the password? When i connect via telnet to the ip of the scan system, the system answers. But i do not have a user and password to login.
Or is it possible to make a hardware reset of the scan system?
Thank you, for your help.
best regards

| | Technician | Try Maintenance Mode #504 - Initialize Scanner NIC. Should reset everything to factory default. Maintenance Mode is 10871087 from copier screen. | | | |

| | Technician | From the copier screen,
- enter "1 0 8 7 1 0 8 7"
- enter "512" and hit "START"
- scroll hilite to "EXECUTE" and hit "START"
- Power machine off and the on again, and you should be good to go.
Disclaimer: I don't have a machine in the shop here, so I'm going by memory. If it's not exactly like this, it should be pretty close. Maybe there's somebody out there that could verify?

Rep Power: 7 | If all else fails, you can manually flash the scan card by moving the jumper on the lower left side of the scan board. FIRST, turn off power and also unplug scan cable. remove back panel. You will see 4 pins on lower left side of board. There will be a jumper sitting horizontally across the lower set of pins. Pull jumper off and place it vertically across the #2 side of the group of pins.(the right side). Turn copier on and let sit for a minute. Then turn off copier and put jumper back in original position. Turn copier back on and board will be reset to default. NORMALLY, ya don't have to do this but I have had to on rare occasions.. good luck..
