    kyocera FSC 8525

I have a problem with the black developer unit not turning. I see in the manual there is a seprate motor for black. I can't find any info on the disassembly and removal. is it part of the main drive? is it a big deal to replace and is there a part# the colors work fine ---no black print on the status page I marked the mag roller--- it's not turning

I have never been into the main drive on a Hanabi, but if it's like most other Kyoceras, it's a major operation. Both VoyagerE's and Saturn were known for stripping gears in the main drive pack at 1M prints. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it were something like that.

My recommendation is to do this in the shop if you can. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Do you know what actually drives the black developer? When look at the motor section in the parts manual it shows one motor called CYM drive and the other is called K drive. but in the service manual, it doesn't give you any removal/ disassembly instructions, for either drive.

I haven't had to do it, but found this procedure in the KM-255C manual (also a Hanabi). =^..^=

Had that same issue on A FSC 8520. After changing the black dv ,DR 895C drive unit(which also drives the black dv unit) with no change I installed a Engine board and it worked.
