    DP-7160

I have a brand new 3554ci with a DP-7160 installed (already delivered). The ADF doesn't sit flush so it doesn't think the ADF is closed all the way.
The white guide where the paper contacts the slit glass is what tells the ADF that it's closed. I've tried the pressure adjustment (Silver flatblade screw) on the left hinge. This doesn't seem to do anything. The screws are all in the correct locations. I've also tried the skew adjustment screw as I've seen that throw the lid off.
If anyone has any other ideas, I would appreciate your input.
    Thanks
    Hope that helps !
    -Tony

Did it test out good at the shop before you delivered it?

    Re: DP-7160

It's usually a broken left hinge that causes this issue. Is there a new defective new left hinge? Or maybe a warped frame? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: DP-7160

The inside of the hinge is not broken. It does not go all the way down inside the coil spring as in previous models.
That was the first thing I thought of, but did verify on other ADF's.
The machine was tested at the office on set up. I always print off U000 then use those pages for simplex & duplex from the ADF, staple, etc.
    Hope that helps !
