    FS-1120D, going crazy?

    FS-1120D, going crazy?

I have no experience with these machines since I'm an Indy doing more or less exclusively KonicaMinolta. One of my customers has this little jewel going berserk. Judging from the take up roller it has around 30k on the clock. Led's are flashing continuously a cycle as follows:

    both green>
    all orange>
both green + attention + toner + paper in orange>
both green + attention + jam in orange

    and so on.....

There's definitely no paper jam and all sensor flags looks physically OK. Tonerbox feels light but not completely empty. What's wrong? Corrupted electronics? Firmware?

    Any help please.

    Thanks

We don't sell the FS-1120D here in the US, but the FS-1300D looks a lot like it. Here is the Code Conversion Table.

    Code Conversion Table.jpg

If there is a network card on it, the simplest way to decode these errors is access the Command Center (web interface). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Thanks Cat. No Network card.

What do you mean with Code Conversion Table? I have no service manual only the parts manual.

You'll get the all orange which means it's going to start the sequence. The LEDs go blank for 0.8 seconds, then blink the first digit, blank, then blink the second digit, blank, then blink the third digit, blank, then blink the fourth digit, blank, then all orange, and the sequence repeats ... forever ... or until you fix it. Once you have all four digits you'll have a traditional (4) digit Kyocera C code.

It all comes down to them not designing a screen onto the printer. There is no way to display an error message. Samsung does the same blinking of LEDs BS, but wrote a utility that you can install on your PC that communicates via USB, so you can get diagnostic codes in a window on your PC. Kyocera never wrote that utility. =^..^=

It's complicated. Look at the chart. Each light indicator has a number associated with it. So find your pattern and your code my be (Example 0129)

Let me know what you think it is and I'll look up the code for you.

    Re: FS-1120D, going crazy?

Its code 7990 and I found out that it indicates an overflow of the waste toner compartment. Removed all toner out of it and the machine is up again with even a good printing quality.

Thanks for your kind help guys.

One question remains: I can get a config page but not a page with the total page counter. How to obtain that please?

For future reference, to get the Status Page press GO to awaken the printer from sleep mode > hold GO until Ready and Data lights blink > a Status page will be printed. =^..^=
