    FS 9530 grey background

    Hi All,

I have just installed a maintenance kit in a Kyocera FS-9530 and now the pages print
with a grey background. The firmware is fairly old. Has anyone had this problem with
    this model?

What kind of toner you used to fill up developer unit after replacing MK?

Usually this happens with generic toner. You need to clean out the developer which should resolve your issue.

    Re: FS 9530 grey background

The developer unit is new. I put the old dev. unit back in and the problem was still there.
Also put the old charge corona back in with no improvement. I'm wondering if it could be due to
old firmware. I'm thinking maybe the drum specs have changed with later drum units and a firmware
upgrade is needed to match it.

Make sure that all connectors are clean from dust/toner. Maybe also do alot of prints and see if the grey background gets lighter. I have this exact machine with over 2 million prints and only experienced this issue when generic toner was used/mixed which caused a grey background.

    Problem solved.

Found a trimpot on the top rear of the drum unit. Gave it a tweek and no more background.

    Thanks everyone for your help.
