    FS-4200DN, foggy background

Used the search option to find any information about the FS-4200DN here in the board but could not find any info on foggy backgrounds

FS-4200DN with 292K on the clock. Prints are having a foggy background. Based on the counters I think its time for some kind of service kit. I'm not a Kyocera guy, hence the question: What does this machine need to become like newborn again?

    Thanks

    Thanks Pal!

Any set up to do or just slam in the units? Customer needs lots of toner for commissioning the developing unit or not?

I think you need to try and establish whats causing that foggy background before replacing the entire MK. I deal with alot of this exact model and 292K for this model is low. In 2 instances, a foggy background was caused by a defective LSU (caused by ants in the unit) and another time it was the engine PWB. Installing an MK is simple and yes you do need a toner to fill the DV.

If the the laser is clean, the kit will solve any other issues. Read up on the developer fill simulation beforehand. IIRC you have to run the sim before shutting down to do the PM. When it boots up it goes right into the developer fill.

And yes, it will suck up most of a toner cartridge filling the developing unit. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Errr...Huh?

Anyway, by my first visit I cleaned ofcourse the charge roller - which is in the meantime standard procedure by ANY Kyocera printer I face any time. The foggy background did not improve than. Yesterday I went to the customer with a new DK-3130 and a DV-3100 but suddenly the prints are clear and crispy now so no need for the moment to replace anything. What could have happened??

    Thanks guys.

[QUOTE=blackcat4866;688320] Humidity/condensation? Air conditioning plus humidity can cause this and eventually it will correct itself once temp has stabilized. (Just my 2 cents.)

Could very well be. The machine is in a small server room with a dedicated AC unit 2mtrs beside it. Thanks!
